you have a point ricky. movies will go as far as the audience take 'em. but this is one of many problems in lollywood: we change our minds all the time. lol. one day we want a high tech, high budget movie with a kick ass starcast and the next day we want all our ace stars which draw crazy money exiled, in exchange for 'fresh faces.' the talent is there, but the audience needs to adjust and make up their minds. we (pakistanis) are our biggest criticizers (if there's such a word). that could be a good thing, or a bad thing, and in this case its bad. nobody's on the same page, talent or audience. lol. some day tho....!
larki punjaban would be a good start for pakistani movies if you plan on seeing one. its being released in the states before it hits pakistani cinemas. honestly man...give it a try and then bash all u want. lol. and i'm not sure how good your punjabi is, but anohter great movie would be 'chooriyan.' its simpleness won the audience over. nothing fancy - straight forward movie, with songs that kicked ass, and brought the story along quite nicely. try any one of 'em out, and i'll watch devdas. cool?!
all jokes aside...i've heard many good things about devdas. two of my favorites are in there (SRK/MADHURI), but i just haven't gotten around to watching it. its among good company tho, in terms of monster hit movies i have not seen. titanic's in there, men in black, independence day, any of the james bond movies, bollywood's K3G, and hell even lollywood's yeh dil aap ka huwa. lol. but again, you watch a lollywood movie, and i'll watch devdas! lemme know what u think....

no doubt...i agree. bollywood is indeed making its mark on an international level. it's the only entertainment industry which can even be considered as competition for hollywood. it stands out and i admire it for this.
lollywood's not far behind tho. LOL. (J/K). in all seriousness, lollywood's not even on the same stratosphere as the big 2, but we shine musically, and hollywood/bollywood know it! u can admit this, no?!

oh yaaaaar, u HAD 2 bring up saima AGAIN eh!? lol. but its cool...i agree with you. lollywood needs fresh new faces. but these faces have 2 have some talent too. saima/reema/shaan etc, are all actors/actresses with a decent face and talent to back them up. these new people need the same.
and btw....what in the blue hell is sana doing there??? lol. she's not a fresh face.

i personally think bollywood has gotten much more tolerant like ricky boy says. they have made some movies which cross a line here and there (in my opinion) but its a part of their culture so its all good. they're allowed to watch what they want, and thats the bottom line, right?!
but ricky boy, you mentioned in this post and in others that bollywood is the 'toast of the world.' might i ask - with all due respect - what world is this!? no doubt bollywood has come a long way, but you're the one whose being dellusional if you honestly belive that they're better than HOLLYWOOD - which is the REAL toast of the world. again, bollywood has gained noteriety thoroughout the years for sure, but to insinuate (which is what i think you're doing, otherwise disregard this message) that they've de-throwned the current champ as the worlds best??? common man...get real. they're not in hollywood's league. maybe someday, but not now. and as long as they 'borrow ideas' (more so than visa versa) from tinsel town....they won't be the toast of the world. just stating a fact: HOLLYWOOD IS BETTER...don't mean to offend anyone, ricky boy included. if you think otherwise, or if you didn't mean bollywood is better than hollywood by stating what you stated (bollywood's the toast of the world)....then simply igore my message, and please feel free to elaborate!

Ricky Boy....nice 2 hear from you in a positive manner in which you stuck 2 the topic at hand. i congratulate you on that, first and foremost. unfortunately tho, your buddy NISHU can't do the same. but again, you've made the transition and i'm glad.
as far as Laaj goes, i have not seen the movie. i'm basing my opinion on this article. while it indicates yet another flop, you have to keep 2 things in mind: 1) its only 1 week into its release, and 2) its the directors first movie.
yes...i'am the one who said 'another one bites the dust' but in retrospect, we all should give the movie more than a week to make any kind of conclusion. and i can guarantee you, Larki Punjaban will deliver, so i'm still sticking to what i said.
as far as it being 'bolly time', pakistani's have and will continue to watch bollywood movies, man. me personally tho....nope. i'll watch laaj 5 times, before i consider watching devdas. lol. thats just me. am i deprived because of this?? NO. why? cause i don't mind our quality being bad. sure i would like for it to improve, but i'll still watch even if it doesn't. theres something abt ghetto pakistani cinema that draws me towards it. lol.
look...this aint a competition...bollywood is better than lollywood. i can admit this. we all can. lollywood's still tryin' to get over that hump. in due time we will. its like u said: its a learning process.

WELCOME BACK REEMA!!!!!!
honestly, you've made my day. finally some backup in this topic! lol.
i recorded the special on PTV as well!! i made darn sure tho, that everything was recorded, sound and all! sorry abt your recording, but i hear they'll replay it soon, so u might wanna keep an eye open!
the music is great, no doubt! but zain looked like saima's son. lol. he's so small.
and i also agree that saima looked very respectful. u see other actresses like meera and resham and co. and all of them over-do it when it comes to dressing up. but saima looked her age, and she presented herself as a very classy lady! my sister's liked her hair too. LOL. and i had no idea her mom dies 3 years ago???! u're probably right...thats why she's so quiet.
and ayeshakhan_fanatic, and teen sahib....watch out! my backup (reema jee) has arrived! its a whole new ball game now!!! lol. (j/k)

in all seriousness tho peeps....according to the post entitled 'LAAJ: A GREAT FAILURE', laaj has failed to deliver. b4 its release, this movie and larki punjaban were two movies that the industry was banking/depending on. now that laaj has bitten the dust, that means lollywood's fate rests on the shoulders of saima and her larki punjaban!!!! can u feel the pressure?! this delay better be worth it, sayed noor!
i'm confident tho...saima-noor connection saved lollywood once with chooriyan, and they'll do it again with LP!!! u heard it here first! lol.

sounds good!
hey....did u guys hear the small peice of news on the show POPGUN? this will only increase the saima-jokes, but i figure i will share it with you anyways! i can (and have) taken many saima jokes, so if it makes u guys happy (and continues to saima-talk in this topic) - here it goes...
saima recently said that she has no plans 4 marriage as she feels she's still somewhat young. LOL.
even i can laugh at that one. LOL. whats her problem?! even tho its nobody's business but her own....she's in her 40's (according to rumors)! time's running out!

this is very true. people from an hours or so drive away would attend, so a pakistani a concert at the acc is possible. but still...its wishful thinking on our part. we get kickass concerts, but not as big as super music masti and millan 2003.
i want 2 see fuzon come here, with abrar, humaira, sajaad ali, hadiqa kiyani, jawad ahmed, you name it! bring em all....the people would flock 2 see 'em. even indians might attend. the sikhs love abrar!

damn......another one bites the dust!
you're right T.O. Raptors......what the heck do we want to see?! lol. they said laaj and larki punjaban were two sure-fire winners. one's proven otherwize, according to this article, and i hope the other one delivers (LP). afterall, its got a mix of old and new cast. not 2 mention updated quality. who knows...lets see.....

u and me both, bro!
but how come humaira arshad's pic has to be beside the actresses' pics?!? lol. if they would've made dalher mehndi's mug a little smaller, huamira's face could've been with the singers like its supposed to be. she ain't no actress. lol. (J/K)
and have u heard of MILLAN 2003? abrar, sajaad ali, shaida mini, resham, and a boatload of others are coming there. and it too is in london. seems like all of pakistan's music industry is in london these days eh!? lol.

oh thats 4 sure. crazy collections for a SRK-SHAAN movie! but lets be honest....we're dreaming here. lol. neither man will leave his part of the 'woods'! lol. who knows tho...stranger things have happend.
i've said it many times, and i'll say it again...i would love to see a shaan, srk, saima, madhuri movie! lol. but thats me personally. you and everyone else would probably be cool with the entire case, but saima. lol. (j/k). so for you guys we'll insert zara, and have saima do a cameo appearance. is that cool?! lol.

reema, what a co-incidence?!!! i was thinking out loud in the other topic ('one saima one topic')... 'what ever happend to reema?! she helped me defend someone a while back!' and here u are! lol.
anyhow....i think you're right abt this not bring his first. i saw qarz 2, and i could've swore i saw his name....and i agree with everyone else too. this movie should be good.
